Podcaster Shawn Ryan Criticizes Trump's Presidency and Iran Policy
Former Navy SEAL and 2024 supporter expresses deep dissatisfaction with current administration actions.
Shawn Ryan, a podcaster and former U.S. Navy SEAL who previously interviewed Donald Trump and backed him ahead of the 2024 election, has admitted he is completely changed his mind about the president. Speaking on a joint episode of his show with "The Diary Of A CEO" host Steven Bartlett, Ryan stated that his shift in perspective comes from "a multitude of reasons." The former military operative expressed clear dissatisfaction with the current administration's direction and specific policy outcomes.
Disillusionment With Administration Actions
Ryan was direct about his current feelings toward the presidency. "I’m just, to put it plainly, I am not really happy about anything that’s happening right now," Ryan said during the broadcast. He further noted that he believes Trump has gone against what he originally promised to do. This public reversal of support is significant given Ryan's previous role as a vocal supporter who had engaged directly with the president prior to the election.
Criticism Of Iran Policy And Epstein Files
The podcast discussion highlighted specific areas where Ryan feels the administration has fallen short. He has previously been critical of how the Trump administration handled the disclosure of files relating to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a one-time close associate of the president. Additionally, the conversation turned to international affairs, specifically the situation in Iran.
Dialogue On International Conflict
Bartlett asked Ryan for his thoughts on how an outsider views Trump's leadership. While Bartlett noted he is British and tends to approach American politics with distance, he expressed concern about what he described as a "blunder" regarding the situation in Iran. He added that logically, he could not find a good outcome at this point, more context in Trump Faces Growing Pressure Over Iran Policy Ahead of Midterms.
No Positive Outlook For America
When asked whether Ryan could envision any positive outcome from the war launched by Trump in February, the podcaster responded negatively. "No. At this point I don’t know what’s going on there anymore, nothing seems to make any damn sense to me," Ryan answered. He concluded his assessment of the geopolitical landscape by stating, "I don’t think there is any positive outcome for America." The comments mark a distinct departure from his earlier political endorsements and public statements.
