Five Central Florida competitors have advanced to the Eastern Regional Finals of NBC’s "American Ninja Warrior," marking a significant showing for local athletes on national television. The group includes Olivia Lopez from Gotha, Grace Gordon and Avery Glantz from Orlando, Aaron Diehl from Windermere, and Garrett Morris (listed as Nacssa Garemore in some reports) from Ocala. Their advancement follows successful performances during the qualifying rounds, which will air Monday, July 13 at 9 p.m. on NBC.

Local Athletes Make National Impact

Lopez, a high school senior who was 16 when filming began and recently turned 17, has been recognized for her dedication to the sport. She stated that she first watched the show at age five with her grandmother, Dianne, before beginning training around ages ten or eleven. Lopez balances rigorous athletic preparation with academic responsibilities, noting she is taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses while aiming for a career in sports medicine.

Competitive Highlights and Backgrounds

The other advancing competitors bring distinct achievements to the regional stage. Grace Gordon, 16, of Orlando was identified as the fastest female competitor in her qualifier, completing the course without falling. Avery Glantz, also from Orlando and a University of Central Florida student, is competing in her fifth season on the show.

Garrett Morris, an 18-year-old from Ocala, earned a $10,000 bonus after successfully clearing the Mega Wall during an earlier qualifier. Aaron Diehl, 15, from Windermere represents the youngest local competitor advancing to this stage of the competition.
